TERREBONNE — The wild black stallion that changed Ann Ruttan’s life was trotting through a ponderosa pine forest east of Prineville one day in June 2011. His coat shone in the slanting early morning sunlight.
“Picturesque and beautiful,” were the first words that came to mind for Ruttan, a Portland artist out on horseback with Kate Beardsley, a more experienced rider from Redmond.
